Μιχάλης Σαρρής

Michalis Sarris was born in Nicosia.  He studied Economics in England and the United States and worked for Banking Organisations in Cyprus from 1972 to 1975
when he became an official of the World Bank.
During his service at the World Bank, he dealt with a wide range of economic subjects in Africa, Latin America and East Asia.  He served as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus from September 2005 to March 2008.  As from 1/1/2012 he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marfin Popular Bank.
